Want to be Pregnant in 2024?
It’s August already! For so many, this brings the thought “time’s flying by!”, whereas for those who want to be pregnant in 2024, August means only 4 more months to 2024, and is fraught with worry. For her, time is elastic - stretched each month by the dreaded two-week wait.

Diminished Ovarian Reserve can be improved with Nutrition!
Recent research has shown that improved nutrition can improve outcomes even for the person diagnosed with Diminished Ovarian Reserve
“One study revealed that adopting a fertility diet (FD), characterized by reduced trans-fat intake and increased consumption of monounsaturated fatty acids, vegetable protein, and high-fat dairy products, is associated with the lowest risk of ovulatory infertility45. Another study conducted in 2019 demonstrated that women who followed a pro-fertility diet (PFD) prior to undergoing IVF had a higher likelihood of achieving a live birth
The study found that following a fertility diet (FD)—which involves lowering trans-fat intake and increasing consumption of monounsaturated fatty acids, vegetable protein, and high-fat dairy products, was linked to a significantly lower risk of ovulatory infertility. Additionally, research from 2019 showed that women who adhered to a pro-fertility diet (PFD) before undergoing IVF had a greater chance of achieving a live birth. I would only add the importance of eating organic. Pesticides on fruits and vegetables make their way into our bloodstream, and can cross the placenta into babies. Reducing toxic load prior to and during pregnancy assures a healthy baby, mama and postpartum breastfeeding time.
Stress and Fertility
Stress is a standard part of life, but for women undergoing fertility treatments, it can seriously affect their chances of conceiving. Stress activates the body's "fight or flight" response, releasing hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. These hormones can disrupt the delicate hormonal balance needed for regular menstrual cycles and healthy sperm production, making the path to parenthood more challenging.
As noted in a recent Science Daily report, "maternal stress during preconception was associated with higher blood glucose levels, especially among women using intrauterine insemination to conceive and women of higher socioeconomic status" (2024). This highlights how stress affects fertility, underscoring the importance of stress management for healthy pregnancy and overall health.
Targeted Circulation
Targeted circulation refers to directing and optimizing blood flow to specific organs or tissues to enhance their function. In fertility, this approach focuses on improving blood flow to the ovaries, uterus, and endometrium to support and enhance reproductive processes, contributing to better overall fertility outcomes. In the Your Fertile Health program at Health Youniversity, we use photobiomodulation as well as a protocol called TEAS (transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation) to improve blood flow to the ovaries and uterus.
